I have been a national-level basketball player so I was so confident that I will either get admission in St Stephen’s or SRCC and had filled the form of IP College as an option. For some reason, I did not get admission in SRCC and at Stephen’s, my name was in the waiting list. I knew both the players whose name was above me in the waiting list at Stephen’s – they both were international players. I was really depressed at that time when Anju Luthra, Head of the Physical Education Department of this college, called me and said, ‘Tu mujhse aake mil‘. She went out of her way to help me. She helped me get admission in this college at a time when DU had already closed its admission procedures,” she says.

‘Girls from JMC are bold and confident’

While talking about her college life, Prachika told us that since she used to live in Model Town, it took her almost two hours to reach college every day. “I used to travel in a DTC bus to reach Satya Niketan and then used to travel in shared autos to reach the college. I was part of the basketball team and we were expected to reach college before the usual time. I have all good memories of my college days. There is a CCD near Taj Hotel, it is really popular among JMCites. We also used to go there and bitch about other girls. As part of the basketball team, we used to go to North Campus very often for tournaments. Hum wahin pade rehte thay. We have played in almost all colleges. And how can I forget the fest season? Woh Delhi ki sardiyon mein hote hain. That is something that I really miss in Mumbai,” she adds.
